INGREDIENTS :
- 1 Duncan Hines Butter Golden Cake Mix
- 1 Stick of Butter
- 3 Large Eggs
- 1 1/3 C Brown Sugar
- 1 20 oz. Can Pineapple Rings
- 1 20 oz. Can Crushed Pineapple
- 1 Jar Maraschino Cherries
- 7 T Butter, softened
DIRECTIONS :
Step 1: Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to low.
Step 2: Add butter and allow it to melt.
Step 3: Turn off the heat and stir in 1 1/2 cup of brown sugar.
Step 4: Drain the juice of the pineapple. Add and arrange 1/3 of the crushed pineapples on the bottom of the skillet with the brown sugar and butter.
Step 5: Layer the pineapple rings on the sides of the pan and 1 in the middle. Top each ring with a maraschino cherry.
Step 6: In a medium mixing bowl, add the cake mix, 3 eggs, softened butter, and the reserved pineapple juice with water. Stir until well mixed and moist.
Step 7: Add the remaining crushed pineapples and stir until well combined.
Step 8: Transfer the batter and spread it into the pineapple rings. Gently pour it in so the rings would still be in their places.
Step 9: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for 85 minutes at 160 degrees C or 325 degrees F.
Step 10: Place a heatproof plate on top of the skillet and flip it over. Let it sit for another 5 minutes.
Step 11: Remove from the skillet and let it sit at room temperature to cool for 30 minutes.
Step 12: Serve and enjoy!
