These juicy chicken breasts smothered in a rich and creamy sauce will surely make your dinner extra special! Serve them over rice or mashed potatoes. Enjoy!
INGREDIENTS :
- 3-4 thyme sprigs (leaves only)
- ½ c heavy cream
- 1 c chicken stock
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 pounds chicken thighs, bone-in, skin-on
- 1 tbsp flour for thickening the sauce
- ½ c white wine
- Italian seasoning (divided)
- 3 garlic cloves, chopped
- Salt and pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
DIRECTIONS :
- Prepare the oven and preheat it to 200 degrees C or 400 degrees F.
- Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high. Add 1 tbsp of olive oil and allow it to become hot.
- Sprinkle Italian seasoning, pepper, and salt over the chicken thighs. Rub each well to coat.
- Add the chicken thighs into the hot skillet, then sear each side for 5 minutes or until they turn brown. Move them onto a clean plate.
- Melt 2 tbsp of butter in the same skillet. Add the onion and sauté for a few minutes until brown.
- Add thyme, garlic, and 1 tsp Italian seasoning. Sauté for about a minute or just until aromatic. Add flour, then whisk and cook for a minute to remove the raw taste.
- Stir in the wine, then scrape the bottom of the skillet to deglaze it.
- Add heavy cream and chicken stock, then stir to combine.
- Put the chicken thighs back into the skillet with the sauce, then toss to coat.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven to cook the chicken for 35 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle freshly chopped thyme on top over the chicken thighs. Enjoy!
