These cabbage burgers are extraordinary! This is the proper way of making a burger! Give it a try and prepared to be amazed by it. Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS :

FILLING:

  • 6 pounds hamburger (I use deer or elk)
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • garlic salt, to taste
  • 5 Tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 large onions
  • 4 medium cabbage heads
  • 5 loaves of bread dough

BREAD DOUGH:

  • 1 cup water, warm
  • 1 Tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup powdered milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1/4 cup oil or butter (melted)
  • 3 cup flour

DIRECTIONS :

Step 1: In a mixing bowl with warm water, add in 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 tablespoon yeast. Stir until dissolved completely.

Step 2: Transfer the mixture into a bread machine.

Step 3: Add in the butter and beaten egg. Beat until well mixed.

Step 4: In a medium mixing bowl, add all the dry ingredients and stir until well mixed.

Step 5: Process the dough in the bread maker.

Step 6: Place a saucepan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.

Step 7: Cook ground meat, garlic, onions, garlic salt, salt, and pepper. Drain and set aside.

Step 8: Chop the cabbage into medium-sized chunks.

Step 9: Add the chunks of cabbage into the meat mixture and add more seasoning if needed.

Step 10: Pour in ½ cup of water and reduce the heat to low. Simmer until the cabbage is soft and tender.

Step 11: Place the dough on a flat surface sprinkled with flour.

Step 12: Roll the dough and cut it into 12 even squares.

Step 13: Add in ½ cup of the cabbage mixture in the middle of each square.

Step 14: Fold the sides and seal them gently.

Step 15: Arrange them on a large cookie sheet.

Step 16: Place it inside the oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes at 175 degrees C or until golden brown.

Step 17: Remove from the oven and brush the top of each roll with melted butter.

Step 18: Serve warm and enjoy!

Note:

Place any leftovers in the fridge.
