When I was young, my family went to local restaurants in the neighborhood. We didn’t have a ton of cash, so these were uncommon events, which we were excited for most of the time. It’s a “once in a while” to go to a restaurant, let alone a group of six of us. During dinner, I always saw my mother getting the Hamburger Steak when it was available. As a kid, we had chicken strips and cheeseburgers to eat. The Hamburger Steak was a grown-up supper. So, I wasn’t grown-up enough for that yet. At that point, when I was in college, something advised me to give it a shot.
Despite the fact that I can’t recall where I was actually, I will always remember that first bite. What the hell? For what reason wasn’t my mother offering this to us? I know why. Because it was tasty! I wouldn’t share it either. Presently, I have my own recipe and I can make them at home for a large portion of the cost with a formula that I found on Relative Taste.
