INGREDIENTS :
- 2 c cheddar cheese, grated
- 1/2 c green onions, finely chopped
- 1 (14-ounce) can of French bread dough (can substitute pizza dough if needed)
- 1/2-pound bacon
- 1 tbsp steak seasoning
- 1/2 yellow onion, diced
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
DIRECTIONS :
- Prepare the oven and preheat it to 190 degrees C or 375 degrees F.
- Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium. Add the bacon, then cook for a few minutes until crispy.
- Transfer the crispy bacon onto a clean plate. Roughly chop into small cuts.
- Remove the accumulated fat from the skillet, then add the ground beef and onion. Cook for about 5 minutes or until crumbly and brown. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and steak seasoning to taste.
- Put the chopped bacon back into the skillet together with the green onions. Discard any accumulated fat.
- Unroll the French bread dough and shape it into a rectangle.
- Add the beef mixture on top of the dough and spread it evenly. Make sure to leave a small space on the sides of the dough.
- Scatter the grated cheese over the beef mixture. Roll it up and tuck the sides. Place it onto a baking sheet.
- Coat the top of the Garbage Bread with melted butter.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the Garbage Bread for about 25 minutes or until done. Remove from the oven.
- Serve and enjoy!
