Ingredients:

  • 150g macaroni
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 brown onion, diced
  • 500g beef mince
  • 2 carrots, peeled and diced
  • 40g sachet French onion soup mix
  • 1/4 c tomato sauce
  • 1 c frozen peas
  • 1 c grated tasty cheese

Directions:

Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 82 degrees C or 180 degrees F.

Step 2: Apply cooking spray in an oven-proof baking dish.

Step 3: Place a pot on the stove with salted water and allow it to boil.

Step 4: Add the macaroni and cool until firm to bite/al dente.

Step 5: Drain the macaroni and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process, then set aside.

Step 6: Place a large frypan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.

Step 7: Add oil and allow it to become hot.

Step 8: Add the onion and sauté for about 4 minutes or until translucent.

Step 9: Add the minced beef and cook until crumbly and brown.

Step 10: Add the French onion soup mix and carrots. Stir until well combined.

Step 11: Add 2 cups of water and allow the mixture to boil.

Step 12: Turn the heat down to low and simmer the mixture for about 15 minutes.

Step 13: Add the peas, tomato sauce, and cooked macaroni. Stir until well combined.

Step 14: Remove from the heat and transfer the mixture into the greased baking dish.

Step 15: Sprinkle a generous amount of cheese on top.

Step 16: Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 15 minutes or until the cheese has melted completely.
