This recipe has always been a part of my family since I was a little kid. I remember my Grandma used to make this all the time! You should have seen her worked around the kitchen. Oh, man, she was a wizard! She taught me a lot of things and this recipe is just one of them. Now, that I am a grown-up, I realized that this recipe should not be kept a secret because I want everyone to taste how perfect this Sausage Gravy is! Oh, man, you are so in for a treat, I’m telling you! In just about 17 minutes, you will surely enjoy this delicious sauce! INGREDIENTS :
1 lb bulk pork sausage (ground breakfast sausage)
1/3 c all-purpose flour
3 ½ c whole milk
1 tsp dried thyme
½ tsp salt
½ tsp ground black pepper
¼ tsp garlic powder
DIRECTIONS :
Place a saucepan pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Add the sausage and cook until crumbly and brown.
Add garlic powder, thyme, flour, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined, then cook for 2 more minutes.
Add 3 cups of milk and stir until well blended.
Simmer everything for a few minutes until the texture of the gravy becomes thick.
Make sure to add more milk if the texture is too thick.
Spoon the gravy on top of the homemade biscuits or toast.
Serve and enjoy!
