INGREDIENTS :
- 4 thin-cut steaks or tenderized/cube steak
- 2 c flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 Eggs beaten
- For the Gravy:
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 c chicken stock
- 2 tablespoons cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lemon juice to taste
DIRECTIONS :
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 320 degrees F or 160 degrees C.
Step 2: Place a large frying pan or skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 3: Add in 1/2-inch oil and allow it to become hot.
Step 4: Put the flour and eggs into two different large mixing bowls.
Step 5: Dredge the steak into the flour, then into the egg, and back to the flour again. Press each steak until well coated.
Step 6: Put the steaks into the hot oil and fry each side for about 4 to 5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
Step 7: Place the fried steak on a wire rack over a baking sheet, then place it inside the oven to keep its warm temperature.
Step 8: Remove the oil and excess flour from the same skillet.
Step 9: Add the butter and allow it to melt.
Step 10: Add in the flour and whisk for a few minutes, then add in the chicken stock gradually. Whisk every addition until the sauce is thick.
Step 11: Simmer for a few minutes. Season with lemon juice, salt, and pepper to taste.
Step 12: Serve the fried steak over rice or mashed potatoes with the gravy on the side. Enjoy!
