  • 1/2 c margarine
  • 4 c shredded mozzarella and cheddar blend
  • 1/4 c ketchup
  • 1/2 c real bacon bits
  • 1/4 c mayo
  • 1-pound lean ground beef
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 c yellow onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 12 slices bread
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

DIRECTIONS :

  1. Prepare the oven and preheat it to 200 degrees or 400 degrees F.
  2. Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high. Add butter and allow it to melt.
  3. Add the ground beef into the hot skillet, then cook for a few minutes until crumbly and brown. Remove any accumulated grease that surfaces.
  4. Add the onion, then sauté for a few minutes until translucent.
  5. Remove the skillet from the stove, then add ketchup, salt, pepper, mayonnaise, onion powder, bacon, and mustard. Stir everything until well incorporated.
  6. Spread margarine over the bread slices. Slice each bread slice into two.
  7. Apply cooking spray to the inside of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  8. Lay the bread slices with the margarine facing down into the prepared baking dish. Top them with cheese.
  9. Add the meat mixture over the bread and cheese. Spread it evenly and top with more cheese.
  10. Top each piece of bread with the rest of the bread slices. Bake for 20 to 24 minutes or until done.
  11. Serve and enjoy!

Notes:

Leftovers should be kept in an airtight container, then in the fridge. Reheat for a few minutes before serving again.
