INGREDIENTS :
- 1/2 c margarine
- 4 c shredded mozzarella and cheddar blend
- 1/4 c ketchup
- 1/2 c real bacon bits
- 1/4 c mayo
- 1-pound lean ground beef
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 c yellow onion, diced
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 12 slices bread
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
DIRECTIONS :
- Prepare the oven and preheat it to 200 degrees or 400 degrees F.
- Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high. Add butter and allow it to melt.
- Add the ground beef into the hot skillet, then cook for a few minutes until crumbly and brown. Remove any accumulated grease that surfaces.
- Add the onion, then sauté for a few minutes until translucent.
- Remove the skillet from the stove, then add ketchup, salt, pepper, mayonnaise, onion powder, bacon, and mustard. Stir everything until well incorporated.
- Spread margarine over the bread slices. Slice each bread slice into two.
- Apply cooking spray to the inside of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Lay the bread slices with the margarine facing down into the prepared baking dish. Top them with cheese.
- Add the meat mixture over the bread and cheese. Spread it evenly and top with more cheese.
- Top each piece of bread with the rest of the bread slices. Bake for 20 to 24 minutes or until done.
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
Leftovers should be kept in an airtight container, then in the fridge. Reheat for a few minutes before serving again.
