Simple ingredients turned into a filling Asian meal in under an hour! Packed with tender mushrooms, crisp snow peas, and thinly sliced steak meat sauteed in a delicious homemade Asian sauce. A flavour-packed meal perfect for an easy and quick weeknight dinner that your family will surely love!
INGREDIENTS :
Homemade Asian Sauce:
- ½ tsp ginger
- 6 garlic cloves minced
- 5 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp rice vinegar
- ½ c. tamari or low-sodium soy sauce
Beef:
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 10 ounces mushrooms sliced thinly
- 1 lb beef thinly sliced (sirloin steak strips, flank steak, or any other steak)
- 10 ounces snow peas
DIRECTIONS :
Step 1: In a bowl, place the Asian sauce ingredients. Mix well and set aside.
Step 2: In a medium pan, bring water to a boil. Once boiling, add the snow peas and cook for about 5 minutes. Drain when done and set aside.
Step 3: Drizzle 2 tbsp olive oil in a hot large skillet. Quickly add the thinly sliced mushrooms and cook over high heat until nicely brown, stirring often. Midway to cooking, lightly season with salt. Transfer the mushrooms to a boil when done.
Step 4: Add another 2 tbsp oil in the same skillet and heat over high. Immediately add the thinly sliced meat to the skillet once the oil sizzles. Cook the beef until the first side is nicely brown. Flip and continue to cook the other side over high heat until brown. You can sear the meat in two batches and not overcrowd the pan to ensure even cooking. To a bowl, transfer the meat when done.
Step 5: Place the slices of cooked meat back into the skillet along with the peas and mushrooms. Then, pour in the Asian sauce. Stir well and cook for about a minute over high heat. Turn the heat off and put the lid on.
