INGREDIENTS :
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 celery stalk chopped
- 1 small onion chopped
- 1 jalapeno pepper chopped
- 3 cloves garlic chopped
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasonings
- 2 tbsp fresh chopped parsley
- 1 tbsp spicy chilli flakes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 Egg beaten
- 1 lb ground turkey you can use beef, chicken, or pork as well
- 1 c panko or more as needed
- Fresh chopped herbs and spicy chilli flakes for garnish
- FOR THE HONEY-SRIRACHA GLAZE
- 1 c sriracha
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp chilli flakes
- Salt and pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS :
- Place a large pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
- Add 1 tbsp of oil and allow it to become hot.
- Add the onion, celery, and peppers. Sauté until translucent.
- Add the garlic and sauté until aromatic.
- Remove the pan from the heat and transfer everything into a mixing bowl. Allow it to cool at room temperature.
- Add parsley, Cajun seasoning, egg, chilli flakes, panko, ground turkey, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into 16 meatballs.
- Prepare the oven and preheat to 200 degrees C or 400 degrees F.
- Place a pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
- Add oil and allow it to become hot.
- Add the meatballs and sear each side for about 4 minutes or until brown.
- Remove from the heat and place the pan inside the preheated oven. Bake the meatballs for about 10 minutes or until done.
- Meanwhile, add the garlic powder, sriracha, chilli flakes, honey, salt, and pepper into a small pan.
- Place it over the stove and turn the heat to medium. Simmer for a few minutes.
- Pour the sauce over the meatballs and spread it evenly.
- Garnish with more chilli flakes and chopped parsley.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
