INGREDIENTS :
- 2 tsp (2 tsp) dried rosemary
- 2 tsp (2 tsp) Dried Oregano
- 2 tsp (2 tsp) Ground Marjoram
- 6 cloves (6 cloves) Garlic
- 2 tsp (2 tsp) Ground Black Pepper
- 1 lb. (0.45 kg) Lean Ground Beef
- 2 tsp (2 tsp) Kosher Salt
- 1 Red Onion. chopped, rough chopped
- 1 lb. (0.45 kg) ground pork, or ground lamb
DIRECTIONS :
- In a food processor, add garlic and onions. Pulse a few times until processed. Make sure not to puree them.
- Add the seasonings and meat, then pulse again for about 3 minutes until well incorporated.
- Transfer the mixture onto a foil pan and spread it evenly.
- Prepare the oven and preheat it to about 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
- Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for about an hour or until an inserted instant-read thermometer reads about 180 degrees C.
- Remove from the oven and discard any accumulated grease.
- Cover the pan with foil and put a heavy-weight object over it to compress the gyro. Allow it to sit for at least half an hour.
- Slice the gyro into thin cuts.
- Serve and enjoy!
